If you are old enough to remember the long gas lines at gas stations during the 1970's then I am sure you will remember the shortage of bicycles at the same time. The resurgence of bike riding as a way to get to work or school is making a comeback. I personally would like to see an end to moms and dads taking their kids by car all over the place like school and soccer practice, make the kids use their bikes instead. If more parents did that then there would be less traffic on the roads and more bikes thus lowering the incidences of traffic related bike accidents. Also more and more children would end the possibility of ending up as obese adults.
It looks like the rise in gas prices might have been a blessing in disguise. It is causing people to get out of their cars and either bike or walk more. A healthier lifestyle might be in the offing.
