Scam warning - fake rescues

If you are the type of person that likes to donate to a good cause here is a warning.

There have been several people all over the country claiming to be a dog, cat, horse or other type of animal rescue when in fact they are not. Some of them don't even have any animals. What they are doing is copying legitimate animal rescue websites (in some cases word for word) and changing the names. They then ask for donations. They are also advertising on craigslist.com that the sale of their items will benefit a certain animal rescue. When that animal rescue was contacted about the craigslist listing they did not know anything about it.

Check out throughly where your donations are going to and don't let your heart be softened by the scammers.
